Ken Carter

Ken Carter, Broker and President of the newly merged Watson Touchstone Real Estate company, has been an active resident of San Joaquin Valley since 1991. Ken was appointed as the youngest president of Watson Realty Company in 1997, purchased the company in 2003 and became an ERA franchisee in 2004. Watson Realty ERA has been in business since 1943. The merger with Touchstone Real Estate Group has combined old fashioned service with cutting edge technology, creating the largest full service real estate brokerage in San Joaquin Valley.

Ken is very proud of his active membership in the Greater Bakersfield Chamber of Commerce and served as its Chairman in 1999. Under Ken’s direction, the chamber launched two massive community efforts: Greater Bakersfield Vision 2020, where he serves as a facilitation member, and the Bakersfield Chamber of Commerce Political Action Committee where Ken serves as one of its founding directors and past Chairman.

Ken enjoys racing his Yamaha R-1 Sport-bike and the thrill of skydiving, while still making time for his four active children.

Because of his commitment to the community, Ken became involved with the Boys & Girls Club of Bakersfield, accepting the position of president for one year. He was also a member and past director of the Rotary Club of Bakersfield and a recipient of Rotary International’s Paul Harris Fellow designation. He is a past director of Cal State University Bakersfield’s Fine Art’s Department; he has also been active with the Bakersfield Association of Realtors in various committee capacities.

Ken was appointment by the Kern County Board of Supervisors to the Kern, Inyo and Mono Counties Workforce Investment Board, which oversees the implementation of federal workforce legislation through the local Employer’s Training Resource Centers. In 2004, he became a charter member of the San Joaquin Valley Chapter of the Young Presidents Organization.
