I really love the climate of Borrego Springs! Being raised in Ohio, I always thought the winters were brutal, so I moved to Hawaii in 1969. After more than 7 years of more moderate year-round temperatures (except for the humidity!), I then moved to San Diego. Relatives introduced me to Julian and it's "high desert" community of Shelter Valley where I bought property and now live. Warmer than Julian in the winter, cooler than Borrego in the summer. Perfect! Just a few more miles away, I discovered the wonderful "dry" heat and the beauty of Borrego Springs in 1979. I can see the snow-capped mountains of neighboring Ranchita and as far away as the Santa Rosa Mountains near Palm Springs, but I don't have to drive in the snow! My children attended both Borrego Springs and Julian schools. My grandson now attends Borrego Springs High School.
So, for nearly 27 years I have enjoyed the best climates Southern California has to offer! In less than 2 hours, I can travel from San Diego beaches, to Julian mountains, to Borrego's (primarily) dry heat. Borrego Springs is surrounded by 650,000 acres of the largest state park in the nation, the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park which means we will never be the size of Palm Springs. No traffic lights; dark, starry nights; small town atmosphere and so much more! Let me help you discover areas of San Diego County that you didn't know existed.
Relocating, looking for a vacation home or vacant land?? Contact me soon. I'll share the knowledge of these areas that I have acquired to help you find the perfect real estate for your needs. You can also become a part of San Diego County's "Desert Oasis" aka San Diego County's "Best-Kept Secret".
My vast knowledge of the Borrego Springs and Shelter Valley (Julian's high desert) areas comes from working for one of Borrego's early developers (DiGiorgio Development) for 4 years and then for the Borrego Springs Unified School District for 19 years. I became a Realtor in 2000. I am also a volunteer at the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park Visitors' Center.
Professionally, I am a member of the Borrego Springs Real Estate Association, North San Diego County Association of Realtors, California Association of Realtors and the National Association of Realtors. Civically, I am a member of Soroptimist International-Borrego Springs, Treasurer of the Shelter Valley Citizens' Corporation and Chairperson of the Shelter Valley Kids' Club.
