Rob Hanson has been actively involved in the real estate industry for over 20 years. He started his career in 1985 as a real estate appraiser for Home Savings of America after receiving his Bacheleor's Degree in Business Administration and his Associates degree in Real Estate.

He immediately excelled at appraising and quickly worked his way up the ladder to the Chief Appraiser of Riverside County for Home Savings where he worked closely with lenders and underwriters to fairly evaluate properties. His experience saddled both sides of the market, the rapid ascent and the subsequent fall. After a few successful years at this post he broadened his horizons by working independently as an appraiser covering every county, neighborhood and property type in Southern California. He then moved to the San Francisco Bay area and worked the City, North, South and east Bay communities.

He branched out again to become a property manager for an independent executive suite leasing company.

Following this Rob spent a few years living overseas (Brazil, Costa Rica, Guatemala), traveling (Thailand, Ghana, Burkina Faso, Togo and Benin, studying (Web Design, Graphic Design, Creative Writing & Cultural Anthropology), and exploring his creative side (writing novels).

In 2002 Rob went back to his real estate roots and got his real estate license. His intimate knowledge with neighborhood and values immediately worked in his favor and he quickly became a top producer. Rob started with Prudential California Realty, but as soon as Keller Williams came to town, he followed the better business model and has sunk roots.

You can now find him at the Keller Williams Pasadena office.

Double Popping - Is it ethical?

In California, where I work, one agent handling both sides of a transaction is not considered unethical. I've heard from several of my colleagues in other states, however, that for them it is not allowed. From my perspective, it seems like there is a conflict ...
