William Adams

William T. (Bill) Adams is President of Adams, REALTORS, an Atlanta based commercial and residential real estate company. He is an Atlanta and Grant Park native with a 37 year history of involvement in neighborhood, historic preservation and affordable housing issues. He has served as Chair of the Grant Park Neighborhood Association and NPU-W. He was a founding board member of Historic Oakland Cemetery, Inc. He served 11 years on the board of Progressive Redevelopment, Inc. (the state’s largest nonprofit developer of affordable, multifamily housing). He currently serves on the board of, Capital Hill Neighborhood Development Corp. (a CDC formed by 3 churches near the State Capitol to promote downtown housing.), the Georgia CCIM Chapter and the Grant Park Conservancy. He also served on the Retail-Residential Investment Committee of Downtown Atlanta’s Fairlie Poplar Task Force. He has a BBA in Real Estate and an MBA in Finance from Georgia State University.

Adams began his real estate career in 1972 with Cousins Properties, Inc. after serving two years as an Army officer. He formed W.T.Adams & Company in 1979. During his career Adams has been involved in residential loft and office projects involving historic tax credits as well as more traditional office, industrial, retail and multifamily transactions. He has also helped numerous nonprofit and governmental organizations with their acquisition and disposition strategies. In the last five years, Adams has been primarily involved in land assemblage for mixed use retail and residential developments.

Adams has the prestigious CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Member) designation from the CCIM Institute, an affiliate of the National Association of Realtors. Known as the “Ph.D. of Commercial Real Estate” only 6% of the country’s 125,000 commercial real estate practitioners have the CCIM designation. Adams has served as the 1998 Georgia CCIM Chapter President, was the 2003 Chair of the CCIM Institute’s Publications Committee and the CCIM Institute’s Region 9 Vice President.
