I was born and raised in Chattanooga, Tennessee and lived there all my life until, in 1969, I married a Hawaii boy when he was a student at the University of Tennessee. We were in ROTC, and upon graduation served all over the South and in Frankfurt, Germany. Upon his honorable discharge, and me with babe in arms, we moved back to Hawaii in 1972. I didn't know a soul and it was quite an adventure. We raised two sons and made our home here. I can assure you there is no better place on earth!
After many years of being a working mom in information technology, accounting, and management systems; and returning to school and getting a BA from the University of Hawaii, I was privileged to develop and manage the largest private grantmaking foundation in Hawaii. As the Foundation’s asset base was developed from its Real Estate holdings, I became very familiar with commercial property management, leasehold conversions, tenant management and the management side of real estate.
I was able to work closely with many community organizations. Today I serve the community as a member of the Kailua Chamber of Commerce, the Rotary Club of Windward Oahu, Rotary District 5000 Foundation, the Organization of Women Leaders, and the Honolulu Academy of Arts. With 32 years of community involvement I am your Oahu expert!
