When you are buying or selling property in today's real estate market, it's important to have confidence in your real estate professional. My commitment as your local REALTOR is to provide you with the specialized real estate service you deserve.

It does matter what Realtor you choose when its time to buy or sell your home. I believe that the purchase or sale of a home is one of the most important decisions a person will ever make. I also believe it can and should be one of the most enjoyable. By focusing on the wants and needs of my clients, I can make the entire process go smoothly. I promise to be there every step of the way.

To give you a little history, I am a lifelong Des Moines resident and have lived in the Northeast part of the city for over 50 years. I serve as president of the Douglas Acres Neighborhood Association and am active in the Greater East Side Development Corporation and Luther Park Care Advisory Committee. I also serve on the Board of Adjustment for the City of Des Moines. I have been married for 35years and have 2 daughters. My husband, Neal, who is a full time licensed Realtor, works with me and handles most of the marketing and administrative tasks connected with my business.
When it comes time to sell your home, I believe that every home is different, and every home being sold needs a custom designed marketing plan. Using a combination of the latest internet marketing techniques as well as traditional marketing tools, my goal is to expose your home to the widest possible audience, provide as much information as possible about your home, and carefully follow up with each lead who expresses interest in your home. Here are just a few of the tools that are used:
• Professional quality photos, using super wide angle lenses and electronic lighting equipment. All MLS listings will show 8 interior and exterior photos (up to 50 photos per listing on my personal and company websites.) All photos are carefully composed, cropped, and adjusted in Photoshop for color and exposure.
• Internet exposure-a recent study shows that nearly 80% of home buyers start their search on the internet. To take advantage of this, your home will be a “Showcase Listing” on Realtor.com (the most widely viewed real estate website in the world) and will include a custom headline, multiple photos, and an expanded text description. In addition, your home will be featured on my personal website (www.LindaWestergaard.com), my company website (www.FirstRealtyHomes.com), the Yahoo! Real Estate web site, and many others.
• Marketing (by mail or email) to my personal database of several thousand past and present clients and prospects, area real estate agents, and loan officers.
• Custom “Feature Sheets” and a “Take One” box in the front yard plus directional signs leading to your home from nearby thoroughfares.
• Direct mail, newspaper, open house, etc, etc, etc.

My goal is to have your home sell quickly, conveniently, and for the best possible price!


When you decide it's time to buy a home, I believe that the most important thing I can do is to listen. I will listen to what you want and what you need in your new home, and then I will go to work and find the home of your dreams. I can show you homes listed by any member of the Des Moines Area Association of Realtors. Whatever your needs, I can help you find a home in any price range anywhere in the metro Des Moines area. I can also introduce you to several different lenders who can tailor a home mortgage to fit your particular situation.

Once your offer has been accepted, I will continue to work behind the scenes to make sure the transaction proceeds smoothly. Before you know it, I’ll be handing you the keys to your new home.
