Healthy Home and Green Building Consultant
Anne Ward is Santa Fe Land and Homes Healthy Home Consultant and Green Realtor.
Anne, a Santa Fe resident for nearly 20 years, has extensive and significant experience in design consultation. She has strong and long-standing relationships with the building and the interior design industries and with local and regional builders and designers. She brings to her clients’ search for a home or home site more than a decade of experience in New Mexico and Santa Fe real estate and mortgage finance, including custom financing for designing and constructing custom designed, alternative and “green” buildings.
Beginning her real estate career, Anne apprenticed with some of Santa Fe’s leading multi-million dollar brokers, gaining valuable experience in the luxury, top-of-the-line markets and in marketing and promoting to this demographic niche.
Anne’s specialized skills and knowledge are excellent and valuable tools in the Santa Fe region, where there is a strong and long-standing trend to build the city as the green technologies center of the U.S.
Anne became inspired and intrigued by the architecture and relationship of homes and buildings to the environment during her global travels 36 years ago. The eco-architecture and ecologically sensitive patterns of human activities she observed during her travels inspired her to be determined to help design, locate and build environmentally sound and healthy homes. She was also the builder, designer and owner of a passive solar, rammed earth home. Over the years she has gained experience in sustainable building systems, environmentally sensitive and healthy building interiors, eco-remodeling, the integration of architectural antiques, and reclaimed/recycled materials into new construction or remodeling, landscape design, xeriscaping, and organic landscaping and gardening.
Passionate about all aspects of sustainable and natural living, Anne believes in living her values, caring for the earth and its peoples, and using her passion and knowledge to aid her clients in understanding their role in the unique and sensitive New Mexican environment.
As much as she loves New Mexico and Santa Fe, Anne is acutely aware of the world beyond the state. She volunteers her time, energies and knowledge with Thread of Hope, a non-profit organization of some 250 weaving cooperatives in Guatemala. Founded in the 1970’s, the organization aids widows in that nation by developing fair trade products to be sold in North America.
