I am a lifelong Toledo area resident. I grew up in West Toledo, attending Greenwood and then Longfellow Elementary, DeVeaux Junior High and then St. Ursula Academy. I graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a BA degree in Psychology. Upon returning from college, I lived in South Toledo off of Heatherdowns. I married in 1995 and we bought our first home in West Toledo. I currently live in Sylvania, Ohio with my husband David, who is a golf professional for Bedford Hills Golf Club and also freelances for LeagueBoss.com, and two sons, Nicholas and Jake. Nick, 10 and Jake, 6 attend Highland Elementary.
I was a Chemical Dependency counselor for COMPASS in the early 90's until taking a job as a caseworker for Lucas County Children Services. I left LCCS in 1996 to start a business. I am the founder and past owner of Kendall's Gourmet Cheesecake & Chocolate Company in West Toledo. I sold that business and the new owners have recently renamed it to Katz Sisters Authentic Midwestern Cheesecake. I love my career in real estate and draw upon the things I've learned in my past careers. The most important thing I've learned is that communication is the key to making your customers happy.
My parents, Greg and Sharon Barbour, live in Sylvania, OH. My father has been with New York Life for over 30 years. He is a financial consultant and insurance agent. My brother, Greg, and his family live in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio where he owns Triangle Dry Cleaners.
