I have been involved in dealing with real estate since 2003. I started as an investor flipping properties while I was in the military stationed in Fort Sill, Oklahoma. I received my real estate license in mid 2006. I joined a small brokerage, but the lack of training and interest to help from the senior agents give a good insight of how dificult it is to make it in the business when everybody is too busy for you and the customers don't want to deal with the new guy. After only one month there, I left and joined EXIT Realty Benchmark Properties. EXIT Realty was unknown here in Oklahoma. This was the first office in the state and I was the first agent to join the office. New office, new agent, lack of recognition, and a lot of competition, but we managed to grow and become highly recognized in the area. Our broker is an amazing business person. Always looking for ideas on how to improve and become better. Always open to suggestions and always have time for you. There was a point where we reached number 4 (out of 50 companies) in the city in transactions. Not even a year in business! Now, the market is slow but we will continue to grow and struggle together until we make it.
