I stumbled into real estate quite by accident. After a very satisfying career as the Technical Director of Neurology for Oak Ridge, I retired to the lake with my husband to garden and fish. And then the people started to come. Most were looking for waterfront property and others were just lost. As we sent more and more people to look at various available properties, we began to think that one of us ought to be getting at least a referral fee. And then we thought that one of us should get a real estate license. And my husband voted that it should be me.

I thoroughly enjoy showing off this exceptional part of the country. While we deal in properties other than waterfront communities, I am quite familiar with Sunset Bay, Lone Mountian Shores, Summer Breeze, Norris Shores, the Highlands, Leadmine Bend, Norris Acres, the Woodlake Golf Club, Cape Norris, Rock Harbor, Hickory Point, Powell River Estates and other waterfront communities in Union, Claiborne and Campbell Counties.

Full pool and beyond!

I love Norris Lake when it is at full pool - 1020 ft above sea level. We are on a deep year round cove and, in the winter, we can see a rocky shoreline as the lake recedes. I never realized how much I miss the lake lapping at the bottom of the lot's shoreline ...

Dress Defensively

Had some folks from the sunny shores of Florida up here last week on an 80 degree sunny day that interspersed itself between all the stormy days . They were here to see lots. I always recommend walking as much of a property as is possible.......the only real ...

NEW BRIDGE over Route 33

We've heard talk for years about replacing the old green Veteran's Bridge connecting Maynardville with Sharps Chapel across Norris Lake, but each time it was suggested for the state budget, there was always something that the governor thought was more ...

Good news / Bad news!

The two (good and bad news) are interchangeable. We've had so much rain here lately that it always seems damp, dark and gloomy. Even in the dismal fog, fishermen can be heard putt-puttering along the shoreline. We left the large oak tree where it fell ...

Storm damage

I was mistaken about the Easter storms when I indicated that not much happened around the lake outside of lightning and a little thunder. Lightning apparently hit a home in Lone Mountain Shores, traveling down the chimney and starting a fire in the basement. ...

Perfect day on Norris Lake

With a blue sky, bright sun and temps up in the mid 70's it was a terrific day to be on Norris Lake. Not that I actually got ON the lake...nope. I started the day by being productive....fertilizing the flower beds and pulling weeds. But the wind was blowing ...

Norris Lake - March 31, 2009

Apparently several rainy days were not enough to satisfy the East TN need for rain. Although Norris lake is now only 10 feet below full summer pool (we're at 1010 ft above sea level), the area has received 35% less rain than is needed at this time of the ...

Norris Lake - March 30, 2009

Buyers have started coming back to Norris Lake now that the weather is warmer. My weekends and many weekdays are spent showing off this jewel of a lake to folks who "ain't from 'round here". Although most people prefer to come to the lake ...
