I was raised in San Jose, California, and like so many who long to escape the hustle and bustle of city life, I moved to Alturas in Modoc County in 2004. My profession from Silicon Valley, high tech sales, certainly didn't translate to this rural community, so I became a real estate broker and opened my office in Alturas in 2006. In the short time that I've lived in Modoc County, I've learned a great deal about the challenges of transitioning from a larger urban area to small community.
