From a young age, the real estate business has been a big part of my life. My father was a General Contractor, and built many custom homes in central Utah. I learned the home building trade from my father and grew to be very passionate about the whole idea of a home and how it affected the way we are as people. Pursuing my career, I found myself in the middle of the California building boom living in Stockton California, and managing a large residential development with my father. I spent 3 years as a project director for a home builder, assisting in taking the development from raw ground to finished homes. My main responsibility was the design of the homes and creating profitable and attractive home packages, that were efficient to build, cost effective, as well as appealing to the consumer.
Other opportunities took me to Chico, California, where a partner and I started our own home building company in conjunction with his land development company. We built custom homes and worked on many remodeling projects. I participated in the mapping and entitlement process of many large projects, offering projections, and time-lines for turning a finished product to an end user.
Working in other land acquisition and development deals opened my eyes to the potential of many different real estate markets, and the whole world it opened up. I found myself very intrigued by demographics and the reasons that make a market strong or weak, as well as the marketing behind buying and selling real estate.
After having lived in California for about 5 years, I soon found myself in Teton Valley feeling excited to be back in a smaller community, and back to where it actually snows! I am an avid snowboarder and love winter recreation, so having Grand Targhee close by is a dream come true. I also love the mountains, I love the crisp air and the beautiful scenery. I guess giving up my golden Cali suntan is a price I am willing to pay! My family was one of the main deciding factors for me moving to the Teton Valley and Rexburg. My mother has lived here for a while and my older sister and her family live here to. I had been in California long enough and I wanted to be closer to my family that are here and in Utah.
My mother, Lora Davis, having been an established RealtorĀ® in Teton Valley convinced me to get my real estate license. Shortly thereafter she opened Silver Peaks Realty with the goal of providing top quality real estate services. We have put a lot of effort in to marketing and positioning ourselves in the market, and creating a successful real estate company. Our feeling is that the better we are positioned in the market, the better our clients are positioned in the market... So our success becomes your success!
