Chip Tullar

I grew up in Hawaii and California and have a degree in psychology from Humbolt State University along with one year towards my masters from Califormia State University at Northridge. I was an officer in the U.S. Navy. After getting out of the Navy, my parents asked me to join them in a new business venture in Kentucky. That was 1977 and that little hamburger / ice cream parlor is a destination spot now called Patti's 1880's Settlement in the tiny resort village of Grand Rivers. Grand Rivers has about 350 people and is nestled between the giant twin lakes, Kentucky Lake and Lake Barkley. Grand Rivers is surrounded by about 250,000 surface acres of water and is at the northern entrance of the federal government's recreation area (about 180,000 acres) known as Land Between the Lakes.

I'm a past president of the Kentucky Restaurant Association and served on the Grand Rivers City Council. I received the SBA's Small Business Person of the Year award for the state of Kentucky in 1993. I serve on the board of our regional tourist organization, Kentucky's Western Waterland. I know and love this region and its people. I love my work. I love my life and I invite you into it.
