Janis Penick

Janis Penick joined RE/MAX Bastrop Area in 2001 and soon became one of Bastrop County's top producers. Her goal and mission statement is to provide amazing, quality service beyond her client's expectations.
Janis has been a resident of Bastrop County since 1975. She and her husband, Charles, moved from Austin to a ranch outside of Smithville where they raise cattle. She has watched this community grow and prosper. After spending 30 years in management and sales/marketing in the Office Systems industry, she decided to put her customer service, negotiation skills and talents to work in the real estate field. She believes the most important part of delivering quality service is listening to her clients and ensuring she helps them achieve their specific goals.
She is a third generation REALTOR following in the footsteps of her mother and grandmother. She literally grew up in the business under the direction of two talented, sucessful women.
She is an individual producer but has built a strong support team to ensure her clients receive the type of service promised in her mission statement. Keri Brown, her office manager, has a strong background in customer service in the securities and banking industry. Nicole Hilbig, her marketing assistant, has two years experience working in multiple positions with the RE/MAX Bastrop Area office and has recently joined Janis in her present capacity. Charles Penick, her husband and strongest supporter, is the retired Criminal District Attorney of Bastrop County.
Janis and Charles travel to Hawaii yearly and enjoy playing golf together and appreciate the beautiful scenery the islands have to offer. Maintaining a balance between her career and family life is vital and she makes it a top priority.

Janis got involved in the Bastrop County Board of REALTORS early in her career and served as Director, Vice President and was elected President in 2005. That year she was voted by her peers as REALTOR of the Year.
She believes that advanced education is important, not only for her personal growth, but also as a benefit to her clients. She has earned the designations of Certified Luxury Home Marketing Specialist (CLHMS), Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) and is a Graduate of REALTOR Institute (GRI).
Her production in 2007 earned her the honor of #1 Listing Agent in the Bastrop County Board of REALTORS and #2 in overall production. She was honored at the RE/MAX International conference in Las Vegas for achieving Platinum Club and was inducted into the RE/MAX Hall of Fame for her lifetime earnings accomplishments.
She was also named #11 Top Producer in the RE/MAX Austin Council for her production in 2007.
Janis is an active member in the Bastrop and Smithville Chambers of Commerce. She is also a graduate of their leadership program, BEST Leadership in 2006 which prepares individuals to become community leaders.
