#1 I’m a Garland girl. My Dad had a dream. That dream brought us to Garland from Chicago to open a bowling center. We all worked and bowled (school, too). Graduated from the only high school in Garland, Garland H.S. South opened the next year. Now we have 7 high schools.

Went to the University of Texas in Austin. We just called it Texas back then. I did receive a BA from UT (hook’em horns). Later, a Masters in Education from ETSU (before they became Aggies).

I returned to Garland to teach first grade. I taught for nine years at Vial Elementary (in South Garland). I bought a duplex in East Dallas (an excellent move). Looking at houses was so much fun, I earned my real estate license. I still like teaching.

Moved back to Garland when I married. My husband owned a house in Garland. Of all places. I’ve been back here ever since. Raised my two girls in Garland, Jayda & Sari. Jayda was in the gifted & talented program. That was fantastic until IB. Sari was the social bug, the cheerleader. Both had wonderful educations with honors classes, band, & choir. Jayda graduated from GHS (like me). Sari is my dancer. She graduated from Booker T. Washington H.S. for Performing Arts. (She was at GHS for 2 years.) Jayda wants to be in radio and has worked at 88.1, The One, The One For Jazz .

I worked with an ERA office during summers when I taught school. Interest was 13-14%. My broker talked about filling out 1 page contracts on car hoods in the ‘60s. Now our contracts are 8 pages plus addenda. Cumbersome MLS books weighed us down.

I did work for a residential leasing agency. It had a great name, Home Hunters. But it was truly the most miserable job I have ever had. I didn’t make any money. I just drove people around. So, don’t ask me if I do rentals.

I’ve worked for a small new homebuilder, specialized in selling new homes as a realtor, joined RE/MAX. I liked RE/MAX and the people. Located in north Garland, most of our clientele were mainly interested in parts north.

Now I am American Dream Real Estate. I am your Dream Girl. I’m here to help you achieve the American Dream. Sometimes dreams change, and I’m here to make new dreams.

I am a member of the local, state, and national association of realtors (LCAR, TAR, & NAR). I am active with the Garland MLS tour and the Social Events committee. Looking for an unreasonably inventive community service project. I have some ideas but open to more.

I have watched the loveliest subdivisions of Garland move slowly from South Garland to North Garland. Williams Edition to Ridgewood Park to Club Hill to Oak Ridge. To Firewheel. And why not? It’s got everything. Beautiful homes. A great elementary school. Community pools. Clubhouse. Tennis courts. Municipal golf courses. Conveniently located off George Bush Turnpike. (Some of us still call it 190,) Near Firewheel Town Center.

And how many years did it take Garland to finally permit a mall within its borders? Fortunately, Firewheel Town Center was worth the wait for great shopping, eating, & fun.

Firewheel Estates. The greatest place to live in Garland. Whether you want to buy or sell, I want to be your Dream Girl. If you’re interested in selling, please visit www.DreamsChange.com. (It addresses sellers who have had their homes previously on the market, but there is good information for all sellers.)

I mean to be your Dream Girl. I’m available by phone 972-897-7002 or email DreamGirl@DreamsChange.com.
