My Client-First Philosophy
There are many qualities and skills that go into being an excellent real estate professional - integrity, in-depth community and market knowledge, effective negotiation skills and a high-quality professional network, all of which are hallmarks of how I work.
That said, in my experience as a local real estate professional, I've also found that providing the very best service is essentially about putting my clients first. This means keeping myself accessible, being a good listener as well as a good communicator, and responding quickly to your needs.
This "client first" philosophy has always been my approach and it requires me to continually improve my skills and ways of doing business. In addition, I've found that the latest technologies are enabling me to do everything I've always done, only much more quickly and efficiently. They've also helped me to extend the range of services I provide to my clients.
There are many things I can say about the high quality of service I provide to my home seller and home buyer clients, but probably none would be as credible as testimonials from some of my recent clients themselves.

When we arrived at Fort Lee housing was not available on post. Our real estate agent at the time was not Michael May. That agent helped us buy our house and convinced us that we were getting a good deal. Unfortunately, our agent had not done a market analysis. This resulted in a price that was too expensive for the value of the house at that time.
We told that agent that we would be selling the house in three years. That agent did not give us a three-year projection but did promise that selling the house would be quick and easy when the time came. We were assured that we would do well.

These professional letters convinced us to ask him to sell our house for us. At least ten other Realtors approached us offering to be our agent but we chose Michael May. Michael provided a computerized market analysis, immediately brought prospective buyers to view the house, kept us informed at all times, and considered our family needs. Best of all, he sold our house quickly at the price we asked.
We moved to Texas in July. We were not in Virginia while Michael showed the house. He literally sold it without us in the area!
He knew the value of our family staying together. While we were in Texas, he kept in close contact and closed the sale of the house. He called after the closing to inform us that it was final and that all documents we needed were in the mail.
