After graduating from Hayward High School, I attended the University of Wisconsin-Stout and Chippewa Valley Technical College. Since learning how to log roll at age seven, I became involved in lumberjack events. One of the big events Hayward is known for is the Lumberjack World Championships held the last weekend in July. I spent 12 years traveling around the country performing and competing in professional lumberjack events and won three world championships in speed climbing competitions.
